Syn for ZZ4

Ive just put 2000 miles on my new ZZ4 engine in my 85 Transam.GM suggets that after 2000 miles i should change from Dino to Synthetic.Ive always thought syn to be a bit thin on these older designed engines.My mate has a TVR that has a top end rattle with syn oil and when we drained it,it was like water.Refilled with top quality dino and it was quieter and smoother.
As my motor developes 420 bhp and when i drive it,i dont pussyfoot around,what grade and make synth should i put in?

If you don't like synthetic, then there are dino/synthetic blend oils out there that would be perfectly capable in your motor. Since your in UK, I can't really recomend one, but they are out there. Here in the US, I'd recomend an oil like Valvoline 10w-30 VR1 racing for an engine such as yours, or a 10w-30 fleet type oil.
