Switching to synthetic

97 F150,4.2V6,98k miles My last oil change was at 97k miles,2 months ago.Dont look like i'll make 100k mile change tho.I was gonna wait until 100k to switch to synthetic.I'm thinking of using Havoline synthetic;is this a good synthetic? Or,should I go with Mobil1? What synthetic oil are you using? Dont suggest Red Line or Amsoil;they are out of my price range.I want something I can get at an auto parts store or Wal-Mart.

I'd go with Mobol 1, its 2nd best only Amsoil is better in my mind. You could afford Amsoil if you went to extended oil change intervals as suggested by Amsoil.

AMSOIL isn't that much more expensive. Extra $3 to $6 an oil change usually. You following me? =)

Schmoe,i'm looking to extend my engines life,and switching to synthetic oil is a good start!
