Sure Drain

I did'nt like it at all in my truck.

The threaded end that screws into the oil pan stuck up into the pan way to far for my taste.

I like to get out ALL my oil when I change it, not just "most"

I have one on my Silverado. It's not as handy as I thought it would be. When screwing on the hose fitting you have to keep twisting the hose around to keep it in the catch container because you don't know when it is going to flow.
I want to try one of those lever valve things but hav'nt been able to find one.

Here's a tip for you guys and gals.

If the tube on your sure drain won't go straight because of the way it was packaged, put it in a pot of boiling water and the bend will go completely away.

I've got the Suredrain and I love it! The slower flow of oil coming out makes it easier to take a sample, plus I never drop the plug in the pan anymore. I would've gone with a Fumoto but I didn't know they were sold up here at the time.

I don't believe this design holds back any oil at all. And even though it flows out slower, if you drain your oil for a very long time it'll still get the same amount of oil out eventually.

I have five Fumoto's on vehicles and love them. I do not believe they hold back any oil when draining based upon the refill amounts. Sure makes taking a sample and changes simpler. As for extending beyond the old plug in length and fear of ripping it off in high brush or whatever. A clip is available to prevent the brush scenario ( not much of a probability though if you have seen one) and probably the same probability of ripping it off by hitting something as putting a crack in your oil pan. These Fumotos are built rock solid.

I used one and didn't care for it. The hose was kinked in the box, and wouldn't unkink, so the hose was help up, not straight down, shooting the oil sideways past the pan.

I had to hold the hose to keep it straight.

Not worth a dime IMHO, although the idea seems good, execution is poor. Usually the most mess come from the filter anyway.

I replaced the kinked hose with clear that I got at the hardware. Fun to watch the oil coming down the tube.

It may be too late, but be sure to read my post above about putting the hose in boiling water.
