Ford stole a lot of Toyota's thunder with the GT-500 release today.

Only seeing the pic's in the article, the front nose has a bit of Alfa Romeo in it w/o the chrome grill. And the rest of the car has other panels that look familiar but, can't quite place them.

Original looking? Maybe!
Looks like a bunch of other cars from the past/present? Probably!
Good looking car? Hmmm!
I'll have to see one on the showroom floor.

yeah, really is't faar away from the z4. Whats up with toyota nowdays when they cant do they own cars sport cars.

The rear end looks nicer than the front.

Nissan still wins IMO, but the straight 6 in the Yoda is a nice touch. That's vintage Japanese right there.

It is a Z4. Look at the interior - it even has iDrive.

Here's are 2 videos that show the car better than some pictures can. With some more explanation as how the car was co-developed.

From a historical perspective Toyota doesn't develop their own sports cars and they barely do engines..

I really like the Mustang (had a '65 as a teen). It's a "poor mans" 8-series.

Meh. It's just proof that Toyota has forgotten how to make a real sports car- carbon copy the Subaru BRZ, now this Z4 variant that's no more powerful than the last "real" Supra from 2002 (and certainly won't ever generate the same kind of HP when modded!). I think all these years of making cars that are as exciting as refrigerator magnets has really taken its toll.

Celica GT-Four, MR2, Supra, 2000GT... now THOSE were Toyota's sports cars. This is just another rebadged rehash. Yawn.

You sure about that? The N55 with a stock turbo can make 450hp/550tq.

The N54/N55 has been know as the "German 2JZ" for quite some time.

BMW turbo engines are quite robust.
