I just heard from a friend that worked at Pennzoil for 28 years, that Quaker State bought them, and then Shell bought the whole kitandkaboodle. Interesting.

Edit: I just found out that a company called Warren Oil Does the oil and packaging under the SuperTech name now. Also, Supertech synthetic is all G3 oil.

Super-Tech has several different suppliers depending on the part of the country. Here in RI they recently switched from Warren to Exxon so I'm more comfortable using it now as I know (at least for now) that it's coming from a major oil company with decades of oil formulation experience. Wasn't so sure with Warren.

Just an FYI, Constar is actually a bottle blower, they don't fill the bottles for Shell. I believe Shell is now using bottles from a different vendor however.

The Warren supplier in Southern Michigan has been Citgo. I do not know if SuperTech Oil in Southern Michigan is afflilated with Warren. I would imagine that in whatever state the Walmart Distribution Warehouse is - that deals with Southern Michigan - would be the place to ask. I'm not sure if Michigan gets their Supertech from a WalMart distribution center in another state or if Warren provides it locally.

Sounds like Warren & SuperTech are not brother-sister here in Michigan. Hard to tell with any non-brand name oil. Just because it's bottled exactly like Exxon or Citgo Oils does not mean the additive package is the same.

I don't gamble with 25 grand vehicles. I'll buy a name brand & leave the house brand on the store shelf.

At Walmqart last night they had the new Supertech oils including the SM/GF4/A3 10w30 full synthetic. All the bottles had WPP on the bottom. (TX)
