Basically the title. Van has had 2 air filter changes in my 60k miles and I’ve fed it both Fram orange filter and the black ST. No difference other than cost but I’m wondering if Fram has a particulate advantage or if I should put another ST in it

I don't think the efficiency of air filters is published but OEM filters are thought to be of high quality.
Air filters let the bulk of the dirt through them when they are new, so you should change them as seldom as possible.

I think it just comes down to price. As long as it's an OEM style paper filter, you likely won't notice any difference in the small difference in efficiency between them.

The only problem I've run into with aftermarket air filters is fitment. Sometimes the rubber gasket isn't quite as thick as OEM and won't make a very good seal in the airbox.
I find that to be a bigger concern than filter efficiency, the best material in the world is useless if air can go around it.

Any opinion on aftermarket oiled cone filters? For cooler intake sounds 😉
