2003 Honda Odyssey w/ 320k miles, 5k OCI with SuperTech Full Synthetic 5w-20. Leaf spring pretty ruffled. Nitrile ADBV was pliable, March 2025 production date with the Champ E-core design.

Agreed. It doesn't really burn oil, but it has had exclusively Supertech since 2003! Went back in with Mobil 1 Advanced Clean, and have some clearance oil to get through before jumping to Valvoline Restore and Protect.

Put a PG EX filter on. Would y'all run it for 2 oil change intervals or is this engine producing too much carbon?

Can anyone weigh in on if this filter looks concerningly loaded for 5k? had a bit more in the pleats than i expected for an engine that's gotten 5k OCIs since new.
Let the media dry out and I am sure some members will tell you how to dry the media out. Once the media is dry you will get a better idea of what is going on.

That may be the best Supertech proof of performance statement I ever seen!!

Looks good. Just got done running the FRAM Drive FD9688 version of the same Champ made filter. Sitting in my "to do" pile of filters needing to cut open.

I know there has been much discussion of ruffled leaf springs but I am curious...do the ruffles really cause problems or would the spring still function as intended?
Absolutely not, at least not in the case of this filter, which is likely of typical design. If it did, those intentionally made gaps on the sides of the leaf spring wouldn't even be there.

The spring would definitely work as designed.
