Let the media dry out and I am sure some members will tell you how to dry the media out. Once the media is dry you will get a better idea of what is going on.Can anyone weigh in on if this filter looks concerningly loaded for 5k? had a bit more in the pleats than i expected for an engine that's gotten 5k OCIs since new.
Yes, and turn the flash off on your camera.Let the media dry out and I am sure some members will tell you how to dry the media out. Once the media is dry you will get a better idea of what is going on.
I have a Flip Phone, hopefully the OP has a Smart Phone! I am just lucky to take pictures with my Phone! If there is a flash thing on my cheap flip phone I need to check it out!Yes, and turn the flash off on your camera.
Not over loaded. Can anyone weigh in on if this filter looks concerningly loaded for 5k? had a bit more in the pleats than i expected for an engine that's gotten 5k oil change intervals since new.

That may be the best Supertech proof of performance statement I ever seen!!Agreed. It doesn't really burn oil, but it has had exclusively Supertech since 2003! Went back in with Mobil 1 Advanced Clean, and have some clearance oil to get through before jumping to Valvoline Restore and Protect.
I know there has been much discussion of ruffled leaf springs but I am curious...do the ruffles really cause problems or would the spring still function as intended?Appears to suffer from the ruffled leaf spring stamping. Common on First Brands made filters. Now bankrupt….

Allows dirty oil to go around the media. Will it cause problems? Maybe, maybe not but plenty of filters are available without the issue is my argument.I know there has been much discussion of ruffled leaf springs but I am curious...do the ruffles really cause problems or would the spring still function as intended?
Got it. Hopefully none of the Fram/ST/ACDelco filters I used over the years had leakage issues!Allows dirty oil to go around the media. Will it cause problems? Maybe, maybe not but plenty of filters are available without the issue is my argument.
Absolutely not, at least not in the case of this filter, which is likely of typical design. If it did, those intentionally made gaps on the sides of the leaf spring wouldn't even be there.I know there has been much discussion of ruffled leaf springs but I am curious...do the ruffles really cause problems or would the spring still function as intended?
