Local WalMart here has ST Syn 10w30 in 6 qt. cases now.

$15.12/case, $2.52/qt. Individual quarts are still $2.99 each.

Not really. We have our suspicions.

I went to both walmarts and they didn't have the boxes of 5w30 full syn. Or 5w30 full syn in single quarts for that matter. =(

I was going to throw some 5w30 into my GFs leaking 1978 monte carlo.

LT4 Vette, in the "virgin oil analysis" this Walmart syn oil is discussed. Csandste has helped me in past with this oil source in another forum topic and I cant remember where that one was. For all it is worth my Canadian findings on this oil is in the "virgin oil analysis" walmart oil topic too. I think our Canadian Tech2000 Walmart oil is your SuperTech.

Found it LT4 Vette, go back to page 2 in "light Diesel Engine Oil" and scroll 3/4 way down. You will find "Walmart Tech2000", there is a couple good posts from Csandste on your SuperTech source.

The debate now, of course, is whether the new ST is Mobil. Note that the new design bottles still say WPP stamped on them and that (as far as I know) the synthetics still have the old design. Warren could be obtaining a wide and varying variety of base stocks. Rumors that they used Group I base would seem to comport with the use of Exxon Mobil which does have quite a bit of group I capacity.

I should also add that somewhere in these threads is a post from someone who called WPP and was told by one of their "chemists?--tribologists?" that ST synthetic was group IV. Never any other confirmation of that one.
