I changed the oil in my 2016 Lexus RX350 the other day. 33K on the clock. I used Pennzoil Platinum 0W-20 and instead of the Toyota OEM filter, I went with the Super Tech comparable...$4 cheaper.
Will my engine explode because I used the ST and PP and not the Toyota and M1?

Hey, you saved $4 in the maintenance of your 2016 Lexus RX350. You can get a free Hardee's biscuit with those savings.;)

Well that's what your Stealership will tell you. But in reality you have zero problems you wouldn't have had with the OEM choice.

You could use Supertech 0w-20 and and a Supertech filter and be just fine, so long as you are doing a reasonable oil change interval (which I believe for Toyota/Lexus is 10,000 miles for warranty).

Pennzoil Platinum is good oil. Supertech filters are good enough for the regular service intervals as recommended by the manufacturer. You'll be fine.

You will be fine. Toyota filters are about $4 though online.
