*stupid q* Oil flow in the filter?

Tell me: Does the oil flow into the filter at the perimeter holes, through the media and into the engine through the center hole? Just checking my sanity, guys...

You can see how it flows when you prime a filter- if you do so.

Almost all filters flow from outside to inside. Very few are the other way around. None in any automotive system that I've ever seen. Occasionally, when checking out some oddball filter that has no automotive/common industrial cross ref, I'll see

DIRECTION OF FLOW.......................... INSIDE->OUT

It's extremely rare in my experience.

Then of course there are the filters like the PH-4 where the center hole is the bolt to secure them. There are two rings of holes. Outer ones for the intake, and the inner circle to the engine.
