I have a 2000 Deville with 75000 miles. The front struts are making a clunking noise at times when going over bumps.
The ride has also deteriorated as well. These are the original struts and probably need to be replaced.

Can anyone recommend the best strut for my caddy? Thanks for your replies.

All your suspension components (ball joints, tie rod ends, struts, strut bearings, etc.) shall be inspected and replaced if deemed necessary.

Bst strut for your deville ride shall come from GeeAmm OEs. Most other aftermarket struts are either too harsh for your ride or to crrapy to last.

Given the age, mileage and symptoms, I'd suspect bad stabilizer bar end links over a strut issue.

Struts don't make noise. Strut bearing plates make noise (must be purchased seperately when replacing struts), rubber insulators between strut and spring bottom make noise(must also be replaced at extra charge),as mentioned, swaybar end links make noise (not related to strut replacement). Balljoints, tierods, rack and pinion mount bushings make noise, none of witch will be solved by replacing struts.

Person comes in my shop complaining of noise I'll do my darndest to diagnose and estimate cost for repair. Person comes in and tells me they want struts,,,they'r gonna get struts, then I'll attempt to diagnose noise when they bring back because noise is still there.
