Those guys are scam artists! We get calls like this all the time. Some call center in Karachi, Pakistan randomly dials North American numbers, with spoofed caller ID and they phish for information. We got the "Microsoft" call, he'll instruct you to sit at your computer and follow his directions. I just pretended to follow his instructions, and fed him back bogus information until he got furious and hung up
We have a HUGE problem with these call centers in Canada offering "Duct cleaning services". These guya call nearly every single day, and often several times in one day. The quickest way to get them off the phone after all these YEARS, I've found is to ask them how the weather is in Karachi Pakistan. They'll deny knowing what Karachi is (in a heavy pakistan accent mind you) and then accuse you of being crazy and quickly terminating the call. What a bunch of goof balls.
