Storm door with retractable screen.

Our home has one of these on the side entrance. It's a Larsen. The screen rolls up into the top of the door when sliding up the storm glass. I'm thinking the door is less than 10yrs old (only been in the home ~3yrs).

The vinyl screen is torn towards the bottom, parallel with the bottom edge. Apparently this is fairly common failure point. I've poked around online in regards to DIY repairs on these to no real avail. Anyone with any insight on this? I hate to blindly tear into the door given my usual wrecking ball technique with storm doors.

I work at Lowe's, they sell this door, I have one, it's great. I asked the mill work guy if they can be repaired. They can but it seems difficult but doable. Go see the mill work department, during a slow time, ie not weekends. They should be able to help you or put you in contact with Larson.

No, the screens are waaaay better on those.
