ST2, 04' Expedition 5.4l 192k w Valvoline EP 5w30+ 1qt HPL EC30 @ 1441 miles.

Here is the 1st filter change on the Expedition, EC30 was added in May 2022. It doesn't get driven too much. Motor was pretty clean thru fill hole view already. I bought it last year and it was very well maintained by the previous owner, dealer maintained every 3k oci. One thing I did notice are pleats are a lot cleaner when compared to the filter off my 93' C1500 152k I included. It was the 3rd and final filter off the run of EC30 on the C1500. Mean anything who knows . Just an observation as I do know the Expedition was loved more than the C1500 previous owners.
Pleats showed really nothing more than what you see and just dark oil in the filter can.

Oh sorry, same ST2 filter went on it and top off oil of roughly 20oz was QSFS HM 5w30. Going to run the HPL EC30 for a total of 5k miles in it.

I would have to believe having the oil changed every 3,000 miles really helped that engine to continue to run a long time. Thanks!

Out at 194k today with just shy of 3500 miles on the oil and EC30, no real change but didn't expect it to. ST2 filter and Valv EP 5w30 out, on went a MC820 and PP Euro 0w40 in. Will get around to cutting the filter later but I except it to be clean like the above. Probably wasted the EC30 on the Expedition

I did not care much for the less expensive ST #9688 10K mile oil filter (white can) : The beveled , hard rubber gasket did not seal as well as the previous Fram Ultra I used as there was oil leaking around the edges of the ST filter when I removed it (it was on tight too when I removed it) . I tried running the ST 10K oil filter for a shorter 4K mile / 6 month OCI but will be going back to the Fram Ultra #9688 I previously have been using .
