My mother passed earlier this year and she had a '05 PA Ultra soon to be an estate sale. I drove it last week on a spirited 450 mile jaunt to stretch it's legs. I got 27.5 MPG with a mix of interstate and 2 lane roads. Sweet ride. Changing the cabin filter in those cars is a royal PITA however.

The highway is where these cars shine, for sure. I've cussed the GM engineer who designed the diabolical cabin filter placement (behind the gas pedal and in several sections) many times over the years. We had an '03 Park Ave for 12 years, daughter is driving it now. 200k miles on the '03, but still reliable and nice to drive.

Thanks! Maintenance is easy, and repairs should be too when their needed - compared to the new stuff.
Oh yeah. Only reason why i got a 21 escalade was because i still had the near bulletproof 05 xl denali which hasnt had any electrical, engine, trans, or front/rear diff and Tcase failiure. Dont know what people mean about the trans being weak on these. both my gmc's are original and had nothing but regular trans service and no parts. If i had to do all the suv miles on the escalade it would be a goner. It's just a sunday pray and dine truck thankfully so i should get a decade out of it without any big issues since the 05 runs on the other days.
