Spotted; Early Karmann Ghia

They certainly look faster than they are. I remember reading a magazine article (Car and Driver, I think) back in the early seventies. It compared the Karman Ghia’s specs and performance to an earlier Porsche Speedster. They were nearly identical. Looked at in that vein, it makes some sense.

I'd like to know how they did a "body off" restoration.
The body comes right off of the frame. There's a number of bolts around the floor pan perimeter and at the torsion tube. It's actually not that bad to remove it with help. Google for Bug or Ghia body removal.

That one appears nice but you never know. The rear view mirrors are incorrect for a 1966, and it doesn't have the one year only 1966 dash trim.
