Spot the location

I was hoping someone from one of the four corner states would know exactly where it is, because, you see, it's the darndest thing -- I can't remember the exact location! Going from Monument Valley to the Valley of the Gods, you will pass Ray's.

Ray's is between Mexican Hat and Bluff along Route 163, very close to Monument Valley. If anyone knows exactly where along Route 163, please tell me where it is!

The location, per my clues was

- in a state neighboring New Mexico (Santa Fe post)

- near a popular tourist and nature lovers destination (Santa Fe post)

- remote and not near any city (I hinted at people succumbing to coyotes)

- near a popular site for shooting movies (more westerns have been shot there than anywhere else)

- not in Nevada, but in a state neighboring Nevada

- not in Arizona, but a neighboring state

- near huge buttes
