I just found a fascinating flickr Photostream having to do with the island of Vlieland, where the Dutch apparently had a gunnery range, and shot up a lot of armored vehicles. Rather than posting any pics here, I'll just link it : Dirk Bruin's Photostream

Now, I haven't looked at every picture there, and I can't guarantee that you won't find anything NSFW. However, I wouldn't expect it - it seems to be mostly pictures of shot-up and rusted out military vehicles. Amazing stuff, at least to me.

Sign at the entrance, "Man lopend voor de tank verplicht".

My Dutch is a bit old and unused but my guess would be "Man required for running the tank".

I have no idea why such a sign would be posted.

Maybe it means you need a ground guide? I.E. a man dismounted from the tank giving the driver guidance?
