Just wondering if these GC-"cousins" would be the ultimate Honda oil. For those who don't know, SLX II is the low-HT/HS version of GC, still 0w-30 though (iirc). Used for extended Audi VSI intervals.

AJ,

I recommend the Synergyn 0w-20, ester based racing synthetic (Synergynracing.com) for these 5w-20 applications. I tested some in my 1995 Tacoma and was very impressed with the engine performance, fuel efficiency and low valve train wear.

Not only that, but the stuff smells like rocket fuel...

I tried the Synergyn and wasn't terribly impressed. The wear numbers were good, but not great. I also needed to add nearly 2qts of make-up oil.

I'm trying the Motul 0w20 now, but Redline looks like it might be the way to go. 5w20 with an HTHS of 3.3!
