At O'Hare waiting to catch a flight and came across one of American Airlines more rare nostalgic liveries PSA.

Oh, no, I'm not on it. Just looked it up to see where it travels. It spends a lot of time in Charlotte, which I just flew in from last night. I almost got to see it there.

You might want to Google PSA images, you might find interesting the uniforms of their flight crews.
They also have a very intertwined history with Southwest Airlines. Another good google search.
 
Pacific Southwest Airlines had some really wacky ideas. Like buying an L-1011 primarily for the busy San Francisco-LA/San Diego corridor. The idea was that they would use them during peak times where the high capacity would help. Their big problem was that they took longer to clean up, and back then there was frequent service (at least one flight per hour) where often business travelers might just take the next one on full fare tickets.
