Rolled down to Naples last week and got back early Monday morning. The trip is 1170 miles each way non stop. Well yesterday I took a day trip down to Quantico Va. to see some friends for the day which was 280 miles each way. My new engine was started on M1 10W30 and now has close to 35K miles on it with I'm now past 703K miles including the mileage on the new motor so I'm not new to these engines.
Now the rub in the last month or so maybe it is just me but my engine seems to spoil up faster smoother and runs more quiet than any of the other 3 engines before it. Maybe I just never noticed it before but it is just something that seems very weird. From what I have read on this board there isn't much difference between mineral and synthetic with manufactures recommended OCI's. Am I just nuts "My employees already think I am" or could there be something different going on due to the Synthetic M1 over the Pennzoil?

Synthetics will have lower friction resulting in smoother operation, better fuel efficiency and more horsepower. Your not nuts, people do notice these differences with various oils. Most Redline users note a smoother running engine with more HP as RL has among the lowest coefficient of friction of any oil.

Well I just changed out some Quaker State Dino 10w30 for NAPA Synthetic with half a quart Redline in it and my truck seems to run better and smoother. Just feels different. But maybe it is all in my head. BTW, the new brew is about 12.3 cst, so considerably thicker than the 10.5 cSt of the QS.
