I was walking in our West End a few months ago, and was intrigued by this sundial-type clock:
It was quite overcast, but I had to try it. October 22, so I stood about 2/3 of the way between the October and November lines, which is a real guestimate as they're so close together.
My shadow, faint as it was, was cast a bit closer to 11 AM than 10 AM, so somewhere around 10:40. (We were still on CDT October 22nd, so the outer scale applied.) The photo's data says it was taken @ 10:35.
