I have a 2002 WRX with a STI 2.5 liter shortblock in it with an oil cooled 20g turbo and all supporting mods. I am nearing the point where I like to which over to syn after break in. So, I was wondering if anyone would think I should or shouldnt run the T&S formula in my car. I live in Mississippi so the weather is like from 50-100 deg with 100% humidity. The oil cooled turbo makes the oil work a bit harder than the stock oil and coolant cooled turbo.

Also, the WRX has a coolant cooled oil cooler. Do you think I ought to go to an auxillary oil cooler just for piece of mind?

Well, thanks guys!!

Richard

From my experience Suburu's are NOT that hard on oil.

Mix in your mods and of course the oil may be tortured a bit more.....but to say ANY engine for M1 may be a bit of stretch.

I would say that a remote oil filter(s) and a cooler to add oil volume is smart for turbos. I believe in healthy oil volume.

The viscosities vary by a pretty good bit... from a 0W-20 in extreme cold to a 10w-40 I think in extreme heat. I will check those numbers though.

Anyone know how you can make the forum email you when you have replies to a thread??

Thanks,
Richard

I'd hit it, an all-around good oil. Saab Synth 0w-30 might be good for it too. aka Euro Mobil 1 Polar Long-Life, Saab goes pretty far on it with their turbos, $3.75/ltr. An A5 oil.
