They have beem dead for a long time I think unions are 15% of work force. And if you remove the highly entitled teachers union and government worker unions it practically nonexistant.

I'm not sure obbop meant UAW union, I think he meant "State of the Union". That's how I read it and I agree.

Was referring to the Union, the collective states that comprise the USA.
Been a "student of history" for decades. Hate to brag but, my knowledge rivaled and typically surpassed that of the university professors I confronted uhhhh took classes from.
What I have observed/read/etc about the past I see happening here in the USA. Many trends; economic, political, social, and others points toward major changes in the USA in the not-too-far future.
From my point-of-view those changes will mainly be negative.
Glad I will not be around to experience it.
But, I may be wrong. My prognosticating may be faulty. Your grandkids and their kids may either bless or curse you, depending upon the path the USA takes.

When buying stuff, I look for a made in the USA tag on it...
THat is usually primary to the company selling it. Im not getting rich, the company is... but at least some worker somewhere in the USA is making a wage.
That said, cars are a bit different... Cars are an expensive decision that needs to be right on all accounts to be worth the while. So company or location of manufacture is more irrelevant than for other goods. However, there is a pride to be had when getting a good product from an American company, made in America. My Chevy S-10 ZR2 (made in Linden, NJ) and my mother's Plymouth Breeze (made in Sterling Heights, MI) come to mind. Both have been EXCELLENT vehicles that still operate like new and which we love.
If they were made in China, Id likely have bought a made in the USA toyota pickup and my mother a made in the USA accord.

Ditto, I agree 100%
For me, its doubly relevant... food 'made in the USA' fr the purpose of our country maintaining the ability, and then the double is that I hope to keep NJ to always be "the garden state", by our farming production. We have enough people and enough overpriced ugly condiminiums... I know LOTS of people desire to live here, but I like to take my drives through the farmland, of what is left, much is quickly disappearing to condos, townhomes and $650K and up mcmansions that are quite ugly.
