Truer words were never spoken. I search for oils with good add packs to begin with. They are still out there and bitog help me locate them.

Haven't seen analysis on this one yet, but DC Plus HM has good ZDDP and Ca.

I'd tend to be a little cautious about dumping a Valvo Synpower additive cocktail into the new GF-4 DriveClean.

Until we get a UOA or a VOA to determine the additive package, it's only a guess as to the anti-wear & friction modifiers used beyond the 800 ppm phosphorous limit on ZDDP.

Will it be moly & boron or magnesium or a high amount of calcium?

Let's not get carried away in the other direction either. One would surmise that the add pack would have to be as least as good as ~$1-$1.50 dino. So if the price is right, it might be an option to extend an OCI a bit beyond 3K dinos.

I would be cautious with the Synpower treatment. Knowledgeable people have said that boosting ZDDP over 1200ppm is not necessary and wear might actually go up.

Hmm..... now I'm scared. I'm running that with Delo 400 right now.

Owners manuel says SH rated oil is the min. (i think SH)... What were the ZDDP reqs for SH?

ZDDP is effective at its job and cheap. As ZDDP is reduced in modern oils other products are added to do the same job. The testing to qualify an oil for the newest standards is in every case tougher than the testing for the previous standard. Don't worry about the contents...look mainly at the results of oil analysis.

Ok. The results that I've seen with Synpower have been impressive so that's why I use it. I might reduce the amount I use for every oil change. I use the whole bottle right now.

I've seen 1oz. per quart as a recommendation.

That is what I plan on running.
