An oil filter should fit any application it cross-references, even if the base plate design is visually different, right? I've done some searching on a particular oil filter and it crosses with one of the initial cross-referenced oil filters, but there are multiple base plate designs on filters that cross over. Just curious.

I like to use frams website. You can look up competitors part numbers for oil filters and compare the id, od, and gasket thickness plus thread pitch to see if it will actually work for your application
