I'm a tool junkie. For the auto stuff, I like the way Snap On wrenches feel in my hand, but the majority of the wrenchs I have are more the german Stahlwille, Facom stuff as I just prefer the matte metal finishes on them as opposed to the shiny chrome. I have plenty of the Mac Impact stuff though..

I need a new set of snap ring pliers.
Any preferred brands.....best heat treated tips ?
I've gotta browse the knipex site to see their lineup.

I was about to suggest Knipex. My dykes and needlenose pliers are Knipex. I have had trouble with Matco, and Cornwell snap ring pliers, as well as all brands of the "all in one" types with the swappable tips. I finally got the big set of Snap-Ons in the case about 15 years ago and no problems. I have a single pair of MACs that I did some custom bending on for use on AC compressors that held up very well.

Given your username, I've always been a little bit afraid of posting my usual Chinese bashing rhetoric in your threads.

To answer you question though, I've always liked the KNIPEX line of snap ring pliers; however, on their site they refer to them as "circlip pliers."

^I totally agree. I may get mad at my car sometimes when I'm working on it, but I never get mad at my high quality tools.
