I keep seeing posts about SN+ oil. Everytime I cruise the oil section at walmart or canadian tire I look at the back of some of the higher end stuff like mobil or Pennzoil and theres no SN+ on there. Is this an American thing or maybe they are just carrying old stock?

Old stock. SN Plus has been at Walmart in Calgary since last fall.

Some particular products, like the Mobil 1 0W40 FS (Full SAPS??) A3/B4, aren't going to be SN+ because they are not formulated to limit LSPI. I'd guess most or all A3/B4 oils would fall in that boat.
Conversely, XOM has advertised that many other Mobil 1 grades have had SN+ compliant formulations since 2010...I know that Mobil 1 5W30 had a reduced calcium, moderate magnesium detergent composition back in 2013 going by the PQIA.
My guess is that anything that meets the dexos1 Gen 2 standard would also meet SN+, but I don't know that for sure.

I would be concerned, if I had a D.I. turbo engine and I couldn't find a particular weighted SN Plus oil where I shop.

All the non SN Plus oils found in the neighborhood -or exactly the same weight/viscosity you need, won't blow-up your engine. But vehicle engine manufacturers know what's best for your engine - what will endure time / miles on your odometer. It's pretty rare where they are mistaken, in that regard.
Also, the wording-specs on jugs may be attached to old jugs that need to be used. What's inside that jug may be of new specifications. Personally, I only buy what's specified correctly on the jug. I will shop somewhere else, if need-be, to find an SN Plus oil in the correct weight I need.

If the correct oil is inside a jug at Walmart, but the jug is worded incorrectly, shame-shame on that manufacturer, for letting me walk out the door and shop somewhere else ..... or buy a competitor oil that is worded correctly.

Both of those jugs pictured, do not say SN Plus on the front. I've seen that QS jug and a similar jug from another manufacturer at Walmart this week, showing all the credentials for SN Plus on the front of the jug. BUT, on the back only say SN.
You showed us the front. But never showed us the back..... where it says SN Plus.

I only mention this, because I've seen them with - and without the SN Plus wording on the back.

Here you go SN Plus: (plus lots of stars

Pennzoil is worthy of lots of stars. Just not their offices, where they seem to deny or lag on issuing rebates.
It's there where they sometimes warrant only one star..... a dark star.

I have read that Mobil 1 met dexosG2 long before the spec. existed (lower calcium etc...) I have asked this before but haven't gotten an answer....does anybody know if Mobil 1 Annual Protection 5w20 (dexos) also meets the newer G2 spec? I picked up several qts. at the AZ 'clearance'....

Does the back of the jug at least say SN?
What does it say?

I have a jug from last year and it says SN. So I assume it's add-pack is built like SN Plus..... unless Mobil is lying to us.

I can't give you an ironclad guarantee, but here's what I found with the AP 5W30 grade.
The jugs that showed up at Walmart when that line was first introduced only said dexos1 without Gen 2 on the front, but they had a d1G2 license number on the back. The line was introduced just before d1G2 went "live" and I think the product could not be marked d1G2 until 9/17, but it was tested against the d1G2 standard in development anyway. This should be perfectly OK as d1G2 is a superset of d1 as far as specs go...anything that meets the former also meets the latter by default, but not all d1 oils could have met d1G2.
I'm not sure how the quarts are marked with less room for text, but look for license # D10109GH015 on them. If you see that, it's definitely d1G2...if not, I think it is probably still d1G2.

If the jug says d1g2, it is SN+ oils regardless of what is said on the bottle. Same formulation. It's just a labeling delay.

So is SN DIG2, in many reads here (see used oil analysis/VOAs). It's even lesser with SN Plus.

That's why I questioned it here, to see if the front matched the back. I want sub1000 Calcium oils, not 12-1400 that some SNs advertise.
Heck, there's even some SN Pluses that advertise Calcium in four digits. I want the ones that advertise three digits, with boosts in other detergency additives.
