They certainly are far better than the fakes I got off Amazon for my Tundra 4.7. If the deal seems too good to be true, it probably ain't. Don't ask me how I know... Ha!
The standard JB Weld (in small toothpaste-like tubes) contains ~5% steel content. Per the JB Weld website, it is an insulator and does not conduct electricity (see below). A digital Fluke meter will show no electrical conductivity on cured JB Weld. FYI, I have successfully used JB Weld to seal up those small cracks on a few Honda ignition coils. By comparison, RTV and liquid electrical tape will not last long in that environment.
rubber- hit them with silicon grease, plastic- get some silicone in them cracks. Find a used one or two and throw in cargo box. Seems these days whatever you replace with new aren't going to equal oe parts.
