My girlfriend came to me for a recommendation for oil to put in her car. Right now she runs the dealer crap and chages it after three months. She barely put 11,000km on the car in just over a year. Her trips consist of mainly 5-6 km one way to work in stop and go. I was thinking she is the perfect candidate for Mobil 1 10W-30. Will she be ok to run this oil in her car for 6 months (or in her case about 6,000km LOL) Thanks for the input.

I'm thinking the GC 0W-30 would be a better choice. [Big Grin] You have the Winter cold starts to consider.

Thanks for the GC definition, German Castrol is Syntec from what I understand. I'll go to WalMart and look for the Made in Germany label...my concern though is it's not labeled as a API Starburst oil. Warranty issue on such a new car. I am concerned about how long she can leave this oil in her car though 6mos ok? I hear TBN on this oil is pretty good. I'm trying to think along saving money.

You can do a search and find tons of information on GC. GC=German Castrol. Definitely available in Canada. Lots of Canadian user's here on the forum.
