Most likely. Companies aren't going to throw out business unless it doesn't make financial sense and high insurance costs. I would be very surprised if there was any other motivation.

Whats going on with shipping is a really good channel. I know there are a lot of click baiters, but Sal Mercogliano is really good if your interested in this sort of thing.

It makes sense they wouldn't ship EV's with general cargo if they fear there is a higher risk. If its a trend they will simply consolidate the shipments and pay one ship a higher rate to carry a bunch at a time, possibly with no other cargo.

Which wouldn't matter if you lived in Hawaii, as you'd have to have that American stuff shipped to you.

Madson operates Jones Act vessels between the mainland ports and Hawaii. If one of those burns it’ll really impact shipments to Hawaii. I think that’s the real reason or most important reason.

Probably not. Nobody can prove it's the EV causing the fires, as the ships are sunk. So I don't think there are insurance premiums in place yet.
