Shell - advertising in OZ

Hi,
much is said on BITOG about advertising claims!

Today I received a newspaper "flyer" concerning Shell's PCMOs

It states:

"Shell Helix Ultra cleans up to 5 x better*

Then in the smallest of print size;

*Tested against an API SL/CF mineral oil

They are comparing an unknown Brand "X" mineral lubricant with their excellent XHVI base SM/CF synthetic lubricant

This seems to be misleading and unnecessary "comparison" advertising IMO

Shell's Helix Ultra synthetic lubricant range are truely excellent products that I have used (5W-40 and 15W-50) for almost two decades. It was in my Porsche engines for some years

I have worked with Shell over many years (also in New Zealand) and their various HDEOs are amongst the very very best! They have very wide acceptance in the World's Trucking Industries

It is interesting to note that Shell is (Aug 2010) defending 22 charges regarding misleading advertising in New Zealand's Commerce Commission!

Shell is the World's largest producer of finished lubricants!

RLI did the same thing with their Grp VI/V oils.
