Shelf life of G-12

Anyone know shelf life of VW G-12 antifreeze or can provide limk from mfg?

The rule of thumb for all coolants is a shelf life of at least three years when stored in the original closed air-tight containers at a temperature of maximum 30°C (86°F). For example: "Glysantin G 05 has a shelf life of at least three years when stored in originally closed, air-tight containers at temperatures of maximum 30 °C. Do not use galvanized containers for storage because they may corrode." The primary limiting factor in the shelf life of a coolant is silicate instability, since silicate will eventually polymerize to silicate gel. The VW G-12, which BASF (who developed it), sells as Glysantin Dynamic Protect/G 40: http://www.glysantin.de/15-0-Produktuebersicht.html?pid=g40 Since this is silicate free, like Dexcool, an unopened container in normal temperatures should last for years.

Good work, and someone has posted before (which I can't find).The contaner itself determines shelf life, probably for liability issues.
