Resident meteorology nerd checking in. Watch the skies tonight and especially tomorrow southeast BITOGERs. NWS has a moderate risk out already and will likely upgrade to a high risk tomorrow. What does that mean? Potential for large destructive tornadic thunderstorms/long track violent tornadoes. A NOAA weather radio might be a good investment about now. Stay safe.

Possible blizzard conditions just to the east of Omayhw NE. A slight shift to the west, around 15 miles or so, could place the shanty in the crosshairs.

Sure beats fast rotating columns of air that have been known to hurl houses, Dorothy and Toto into obsure areas where hallucinations overcome said occupants.

Always did wish that witch woulda' grabbed that yappy Toto and feed it to the flying monkeys.

San Diego weather is being pretty severe too. The wind was driving me nuts. Must have been 40 degree wind, I was freezing out there with just a shirt on. Still was uncomfortably cold wearing a sweater.

It is snowing where I live. We have already gotten more snow then we usually do in an entire winter. Where I live in Colorado the weather people call it the 'brown spot' because it is usually pretty dry, especially in the wintertime. This winter has not be so dry. There was a time a while back for a few weeks we had snow on the ground and that is unusual around here-usually the snow melts right away.

I like the snow, really, I just do not like driving through it. We need the snow and rain here because there is always a water shortage here.

I'm looking at the front page of todays Canberra Times and there's a taxi stuck unable to move in hail! They had dump trucks and end loaders (backhoes) in town centre trying to remove over a meter of hail. So many roves caved in it's a real mess. Everywhere is green covered in shredded leaves. The storm of the decade they are calling it

It is actually thundering and lightning here. Strange for this area during the end of winter/beginning of spring.

I usually storm chase during the summer months. The power of nature is something to behold.

All my kiwifruit have holes in their leaves like they've had hailstones pass clean through them...which of course they have.

Predicting "blizzard-like" conditions by noon today. Blizzard like? Either it's a blizzard or not. Get with the program you freakin weatherdudes...

SNOW DAY!!!!!!!!!

Lots of snow on the ground. Wind windy. Wind-like. Not quite windy enough to make it a full-fledged blizzard with white-out conditions. Does make the snow move, creeping across the plowed roads creating slippery spots.

Relentless. Windy wind. Piling the snow into snow-white massifs. White-like white.

THUNDER SNOW!!!!!! Lightening-like lightening occuring. Weather guessers babble that when it happens snow fall increases. Up to 2 inch-like inches of white-like snow-like snow per hour.

Like, cool!!!!!!!

Snow.

Can I make a wise crack about global warming? Oh I better not. Some people will think of me as a backwards knuckle dragger...and even say I am ignoring all the evidence.....

Oh I guess I just did. No need to respond.

GW will give biger snowfalls etc in some places. We got over a metre of hail on lthe ast day of summer. Weird indeed. I see pictures on morning TV today of a masive multiple car truck pileup on a road in the Cascade Mountains. Must be near you Pablo?

Very near me. I-90 was very nasty from what I heard and saw on the tele. Today is just GORGEOUS. Snow melting fast, purest blue sky I ever saw in Seattle........there's a song in there. Going out for pho now.

You say that like it's a fact.

got 2" of hail this morning.
most was bb to pea sized but i a few around .45 "
neighbor giving weird looks as i measured a few with digital calipers.

Appears there has been eleven inches of snow here at the shanty.

Drifts of three to four feet.

Wind has died down.

Schools closed today and tomorrow.

Roads closed.

Many minor wrecks.

Even snow plows getting stuck.

Shoveled a bit and drove up and down long driveway in 4-wheel drive to compact snow for easier egress later. Ol' truck does very well in the snow. Good snow tires, four sandbags in back. Thanks for prior advice about amount of weight to use in bed; appears that four 75-pound bags is optimal.

May get more snow tonight and tomorrow.

Local media proclaimed we did attain official blizzard conditions due to snowfall amount and wind velocity for required length of time. Own opinion is that it was barely a blizzard, a border-line blizzard. Coulda' been much worse but far from Fiji-like with current WEATHER. Weather, not climate.

Glad power did not go out like it did for thousands of others.

Will likely survive.

At least we didn't get zapped with tornadoes as they did down south. Sad that a high school got hit. If a building just HAS to be slammed it should be an old folk's home. At least those folks had a chance to live their life.

Oh well.

Film at eleven.
