Does anyone own a set of these? About 1-2x/month I find situations where these may have been useful, but I have survived without.
I’ve found that a variety of extensions lengths gets me close enough with regular and deep for every drive size. 1.5”, 3”, 6”, 10”.
In a real pinch, swapping drive size usually works, as the deeps are different depths between, say, 1/4” 3/8” and 1/2”.
If you really need to fine tune - go with the next drive size up/down and use an adapter with the same ratchet, those adapters usually add about 1/2” to the depth.

I bought them from Napa on sale, I don't use them much and could live without them like I did before. At least the Carlyle are Taiwan and not chicom.
I dont know how I lived without semi-deep sockets. I rarely use shallow anymore preferring a semi-deep. Mine are all Snapon though, cant commend on gearwrench. I have 1/4, 3/8, and half inch drives

I’ve got SK ones that are really nice I love them they come in handy a lot where a chrome is too shallow but a deep is too deep. Use them at least a few times a week minimum.
Koken semi-deep sockets are my go to... probably a preference thing growing working with my dad who had SO shallow & semi-deeps in his cart.
Nice to have, but not a necessity... hell, if I only had necessities I'd have a lot less tools. I find myself also using 1/4" drive a lot more. If you can spring for it... there's always those "situations" where having "just" the right tool combo makes a frustrating job, less frustrating.
I have Snap-on metric sets in 1/4" & 3/8" drive, Use them much more than shallow sockets but not as much as deeps. My semi deep Impact wobbles are something I wouldn't like to be without.

I have a set of 1/2” drive Stanley pronto ones that I really like.
I have 3/8 drive semi deeps in SAE and metric and they're my go to sockets. I grab shallow or deep as needed.
They look interesting, but in all honesty I've never run into a situation I wasn't able to handle w/o them.
I have a 12mm and 14mm 3/8" like that. I prefer these over standard sockets, and 1/4"drive as it gives my fingers extra clearance
I have a set from MATCO from like 15 years ago or so and I liked them.
The most important for me is to have as many combinations as possible for length. Nothing is more frustrating than having 1 combination of socket and extension too long for the space available, and the next too short...
