Seeking premium brake pads for 2001 Taurus...what do you recommend?

Rock Auto has the OE pads
Motorcraft BRF1387

Akebono is also a good choice.

Rock Auto has ATE pads on closeout for $9, if you want something cheap.

Pair them with any coated rotors that ship from the same warehouse

Boy haven't driven a Taurus in a long time. But I remember that it wasn't so much the brake pad, pretty much any of them were good, but the rotors tended to warp. Cheap ones, good ones, they all warped, always swapped them out after 2-3 years. I ended up with lifetime pads from the local Autozone. I remember getting a few free sets of pads from them. At least with the 2001, you got the bigger brakes, the 2000 had the smaller brakes.
