I had to replace a leaking supply line on our guest toilet and now I see small rust / crud bits in the water when the bowl fills. This didn't happen with the old supply line.

What could be going on?

As posted above, the repair agitated and exposed existing rust in the system.
The water in my Village is high in iron content. Even with frequent cleanings, it appears.
I have had luck with this:

I didn't think about the increased flow or disturbing of the area. Hopefully, the crud doesn't get caught in the fill valve / flapper and cause them to hang open.

Won't hurt the flapper but will mess up the fill valve. If you see it in the bowl, the rust bits have already made it past those items.
