Sears online tire prices are excellent overall and different from the prices when you go right to the Sears auto desk. For example, Michelin Premier AS in 225/45/17 are 135.52 online. Tirerack Has them for 160.00 not including shipping and Sears at the desk priced them at 176.00. I showed the desk person the online price and he matched it. Ironically if I ordered them online they were not supposed to be available for a week. I ordered the tires yesterday at 530 pm and they arrived this afternoon. Going to have them put on tomorrow. I would use this online price at other tire stores since the Sears shipping is free if you wanted to get tires at a different store.

I find Sears to be a mess for this same reason. The store is the last place to know what's on sale.

Probably good for price matching. All the local tire dealers price match. I usually go to Town Fair Tire, they usually price match and beat the price by a few dollars and they throw in a free front end alignment.

Exactly what I did last time, though it was BJ's that gave the best starting price, and Town Fair matched that with a -5% tossed in to boot. I tried Sears, Discount Tire, and a number of other on-line stores, and BJ's beat them all. My only complaint against Town Fair is that they often scuff and scrape the wheels when tossing them around.

I used to go to Sears and buy their road hazard warranty with the tires. You don't always get that at Town Fair Tire.

I had good luck with sears buying tires online. They even let me carry them out and mount 'em myself. Walking in there and making them match the website is a new twist. I prefer having the order paperwork in hand and just making them hand my stuff over.

Local sears wouldnt match their website, didnt have the tires in stock anyway. I ordered 2 tires online while making an appt to install, showed up on time, and 1.5 hrs later had new tires. Pretty painless. Last night used the shop your way rewards to order 2 more tires online, have appt to install next week. The sears website is a mess but the prices have been great. If you need tires now, they seem to only stock cheap guardsman or other tires. maybe uniroyal.

I've used Sears before. Cashed in Discover Card cashback bonus to get e-cards at 20% off. I.E. $40 in cashback bonus for a $50 e-card.

I think I got $400 in e-cards for $320 in CBB IIRC. Order the tires with installation online. I think I paid the final $50-$70 (with the DC to start earning more CBB) and made my appointment.

Dropped off the car. oilBabe and I went to a winery and we returned three hours and one bottle of wine later to get my car back.

Drama free experience.
