I have a question about seal problems I've been reading on this forum. If seals are supposed to stop oil from getting by, then the seal will always be oily. Then how come you here all the hype about these high milage oils revitilizing shrunken & dried out seals?. How can seals dry out and shrink ? [I dont know]

the fact that a seal is oily does not mean that it hasn't shrunk or dried out. it is the internal make up that we talk about. The seal swell additives replace flexibility components in the seals. The cleaner/sealers like autorx get the sludge off so that the oil can get to the seal.
