I was looking at those and can't figure out to buy. I want to have one as a jumper/starter and need 12V DC outlet for memory saver during car battery replacement. I got a email from Menards that they have SPR1631 for $49.99. Which seems a good deal and I got one. They also have SPR1630 for $29.99 and FRO1240 for $39.99. I don't care about the compressor as I have a separate one but it seems most of them have it anyway. I have read lots of horrible reviews from recent time and want to make sure I can at least have the ability to replace the battery. There is lots of "opinions" on what batteries those units can be replaced with so I opened it and it is 12V 12ah/20hr. It has foam on 3 sides and if removed there would be more space. It seems Schumacher does not even have those models on their site. Are those old or just specially made for some retailers? Is there any information about the battery for each unit?
Should I look at different brands or are they all pretty bad nowadays?

The 1639 is a screaming deal. I bought two of them thinking Amazon was good deal at $60 a piece. $34.99 is crazy, and upsetting.

I'm thinking of returning 1631 and replacing it with 1630. It is more than enough.

So I got 1630. I think I now understand why they are cheaper than somewhere else. 1630 model only has 7ah whereas 1631 has 12ah. I think other units like 1631 has 18ah battery. I'm debating to keep or not the 1631 vs 1630. Any thoughts?

also, 1631 did not say to charge it for 36 hours and it reached 100% 1st time I disconnected and with in 3-4 hours the battery was showing down to 85% but after charging for over 48 hours the battery has stayed 100% for more than 2 days now. 1630 does not have a digital display, only 3 levels.

If you’re not worried about a compressor just buy the jump pack and order a cigar adapter. I figure an air compressor in the trunk isn’t going to do me any good in an emergency such as a blowout. If the tires low on the road I’ll hit a gas station.
