Currently my supercharged 1990 3.8L Thunderbird is running 5w30 Pennzoil YB for the winter. It's going to be due for a change probably in the spring. The summer racing season starts in April, the car is modified and runs 14 second 1/4 miles. I live in southern Michigan. I was considering running Schaeffers 9000 5w-40 for the summer. Good idea? I'm assuming the 3.8L being an older engine design, having 104k miles, and being supercharged, would prefer a thicker oil, but not too thick. Thanks for the advice.
