2008 Ford Crown Victoria Police, 4.6L in police service. First run on Schaeffer's Supreme 7000 5W-20 (numbers on left) Vehicle is equipped with an hour meter which only accumulates time while engine is running in park. 6039 mi + 156 hrs of idle time on oil. For reference, Ford considers 1 hr of idle time equivalent to 33 mi of driving=11,187 mi equivalent, total. Towards the end of the run the alternator pulley loosened up and began to slip on the shaft. The serpentine belt was destroyed by the resulting heat production. The engine over heated and required the replacement of 1.5 gal of coolant to refill. 37,647 mi on vehicle Napa Gold oil filter 0 make up oil, oil level was just above add mark at time of sampling. Seems like the oil handled real well considering the hours and the overheating. TBN is solid, can't wait to get my case of Schaeffer's(wish my local rep had the 5w20 though).

Very impressive overall, especially that the TBN retention is almost half of what it started at. IIRC this oil is a blend, not even considered a full synthetic.

Nice presentation, if Schaeffer's stopped playing hide&seek and made the price more tolerable they would be running three shifts at their production facilities.

Yeah, they call it a blend. Although I believe that the 7000 series has Group III and something like 20-25% PAO. I think that's what Salesrep said, so it could be considered a "full syn" really.

That is an excellent report. What was the time span for this run? 156 hours of idle time = to many stops at Dunkin Donuts.
I'll have to double check the time frame, but it is typically a couple of months. This car also sat out of service for a week or so during this interval while the tranny was replaced under warranty. Idle time is from directing traffic, running the lights at scenes, traffic stops, etc. No Dunkin Donuts in our coverage area yet, but we're hoping!

Great results, and a 20 grade oil. The idle time is what kills things, then overheating. I can only imagine what a 10,000 mile normal use run would have looked like!

According to Schaeffer's, the 7000 series is a blend of Group II+ and PAO.
Oh ok, thanks for clearing that up for me.

Bah! You guys are slackers!! THIS agency has their priorities in order!!!

That is a great report. Schaffer oil sure holds onto TBN well. Also has a boatload of Moly. Nice high ZDDP. A SL oil?
