is #703 really not a diesel/CI-4 oil, or did schaeffer's just not bother with the certification?

it strikes me as odd that schaeffer's has so many gasoline-only oils, given they cater mainly to industrial use.

what does an oil need to meet CI-4 over just SL?

thanks.

Schaeffer's puts their efforts where their bread and butter is--that is industry. Most industry diesels use 15w-40 (meets 10w starting specs BTW)so their #700 15w-40 is GREAT stuff. I use it in my DOHC engines with great UOAs.

Sorry I didn't answer your specific question.

FWIW, I looked up the specs for GC and discovered that it is rated CF for diesels. Aren't we up to CI already?
