I have a 1993 Corvette LT1 that I just had rebuilt to a 383 with all forged internals and Mahle coated pistons. The Engine Builder told me with the clearance the engine has now I should run a 15w40 Oil. He recommended Schaeffer, which I'd never heard of before. However, in researching them I've read a lot of great things about the Schaeffer products. I just wanted to reach out on the forum to confirm that this would be a good oil to use. The engine will be broken in with Comp Cams 1591 Break In Oil. I plan to change to some type of 15w40 after the first 150-200 miles. I don't intend on racing the car, just having some fun cruising in it. Thanks.
