Wifey and I were in San Diego on Saturday visiting her elderly Aunt Grace; great lady.
Saw a white RWD or 4WD (had a rear pumpkin and sat higher); looked really good. I liked it a lot.
Saw another that I believe was a FWD; seemed to sit low; I didn't like it as much.

I think Ford hit a home run with this truck. It is the new Datsun PU. It makes so much sense for so many families. Not to mention CA gas prices...

The Maverick makes for the perfect daily-driver. Seating for 4-5, great fuel efficiency, ease of parking since it's small (including fitting in the garage), and utility. I'd much rather have one than a CUV. You can get a tonneau cover so the bed is a giant trunk.

I considered getting one last year but cancelled my reservation, they're too weirdly optioned.

Mine has been with me for 5 months. It is still very rare for me to see one in the wild here in Kansas City.
Ford is only making 80-100K 2023 Mavericks. only 35% wil be hybrids. I'm thinking resale on these critters will be high for quite a while. They stop taking hybrids orders tomorrow. Ecoboosts the next day, Wednesday

Geez guys, I was expecting to see a couple of interesting 1970s Mavericks. Interesting little cars, especially the ones with V8s.
One of my medical school classmates had a green Maverick with a 302 V8. His next and final car was a red Porsche 911.

He became a GI specialist and died very young after going to bed with "indigestion". There is an awful tendency for physicians to die of a disease within their specialty. Though in this case I suspect he only thought it was within his specialty, but actually died of a heart attack.

Options are weird! The base models don't even have cruise control. I had a co-worker order one and he didn't realize it didn't have cruise. I thought every vehicle had cruise and power windows

The XL has everything I need...the 2023s are already sold out, they can't build enough of them.

They are only FWD or AWD. I'm seeing a few around here. I ordered mine on Dec 17. It's scheduled for build the week of Oct 3 -- if it doesn't get pushed out again. Who would have ever thought 4 years ago, that we'd be in the situation of having to order vehicles if you want one? You used to be able to have the pick of the litter, and find the best deal.

I have owned my hybrid Lariat since March ‘22, after a 9 month wait. I was fortunate to get the Ford A plan price. I don’t believe the dealership involved is honoring A or X plan pricing anymore. Just adding $5000+ to the MSRP like most other dealerships are. I too expect resale values to remain high - until Toyota and GM burn the midnight oil, to figure out how to offer a competitive product. 😂

In 70% city driving, my average mpg is showing 51 mpg right now. I expect that to drop into the low to mid 40’s as the temperatures drop (and as I do more highway driving). I am looking forward to the day an EV Maverick version hits the showroom.

The vehicle bed and room is sufficient for the majority of 1/2 ton pickup owners who commute to work and haul a bed of air. Not the most glamorous vehicle however that hybrid setup is great.
