Saw a first generation Miata this afternoon...

Such a good car. Miss my 91 every day. Should never have sold it.

Still would have been hammering it around the track too.
I was in my early 20's when my Dad got one around 2001, But he wouldn't let me use it at autocross even...
Fun little car, with good balance it was fun to hustle around even in town. It had the original tires so it was easy to get some slip angles without a lot of speed, and then it had enough power to balance it with the throttle.

I don't see NA problem with it! Time moves on...

There used to be an annual new car show at the Convention Centre, around March. I attended several years in the 1980s. (I think the last year was 1990.)

The Mazda dealers had a Miata there (which must have been the show in 1990). I was really impressed.

I've ridden in one once, but have never driven one. That needs to change!

They hyped the heck out of the 1990 model year and they were available (in limited amounts) through much of 1989.

The auto show where I saw the Miata was likely in '89. I think that was the last one. They had a live version of the radio program The Automotive Hotline, which was cancelled in 1990.

I wish they still held the new car shows.

The fellow manning the Lada display one year had a fit when I pulled the distributor cap to see whether the Signet still had breaker points. (It did.)

Yes, you're old
A real vintage ride 😂
I was a kid at the auto shows when the NC and ND Miata launched 😭
I choked not buying a serviceable NA for $500 before prices when through the roof 😔
Good to hear Mazda (for the most part) hasn't changed the formula much
