Savage arms rebate

I bought my Savage B17G with wood stock 17hmr bolt action in late January, sent in all the necessary paperwork via computer and still haven't received my $50 rebate. The Savage rebate site ( third party) acknowledges and verifies my rebate request but dang, 5 months and counting! Is this typical? BTW, I love this rifle! Not one failure with about 500 rounds down range so far. Shoots flat out to 100 yards ( haven't shot it farther) with the Nikon Prostaff Rimfire ll 3-9x40 scope using Federal 17 grain Vshok ammo. But it has to be a dead calm day with this tiny bullet.

I had the same problem with a Savage rifle that I bought in October. I called the 3rd party rebate center and was always told I would get the rebate soon. Last week I called the Savage Customer Service line. The gentleman that I spoke to told be he would get it handled. Several days later I got an email saying the check was on the way.
