My 2000 Yamaha Kodiak 4x4 calls for Sae 80w hypoid oil in the differential and final drive. I cant find straight 80w anywhere local. Is there an alternative that I can find at a auto parts store?

Redline makes a 75w-85 GL-5 gear oil that Redline says meets the 80w GL-5 specification. I haven't found this on the shelf locally, but I was able to have my local Carquest store special order me a bottle. Another option that may be available to you at a Honda dealership is Honda HGO-1 75w-85 GL-5. Hopefully one of these two options meets your needs and is available to you locally.

Anytime I run into that I just use 75w-90 synthetic. I've never had an issue. Amsoil SVT with the red cap to be precise.
