SAAB turbo oil is Mobil 1 long life

The Saab branded oil is a Mobil product but is produced with higher specifications than is offered in the US.

While we may recommended these product, the important issue is to use only products that meet mauufacturer's specifications.

This is what I wrote to SAABUSA

Can you tell me who makes the SAAB fully synthetic turbo oil. I have read
that it is relabeled Elf Evolution SXR or European Mobil 1 Long Life. I
know I have only two choices for oil for my 03 SS here in the US. There
are about seven other oils in Europe that meet the GM-LL-A-025 specs. I
feel I'm being forced to use Mobil products, which I don't like to buy or
use.

I emailed Amsoil tech services about this application yesterday and they specifically recommended their Series 2000, 0w-30. Their response stated that the performance capabilities of the Series 2000 formulation far exceeded the requirements of the GM-LL-A-025 specification, which is what I expected.

For turbodiesel engines calling for GM-LL-A-024(?), the Series 3000, 5w-30 would be the preferred oil. The Amsoil 0w-30 is actually ACEA B4 rated for diesel use, but the add pack in the Series 3000 is better suited to any diesel motor.

I feel entirely comfortable recommending Amsoil for this application.... Amsoil keeps very close tabs on OEM European oil requirements and has always formulated their oils to meet them if possible.

Actually the GM Longlife diesel spec is called GM-LL-B-025, both the A & B spec are on the label of M1 0W-40.
