Hello all,

See attached my recent UOA on Valvoline Restore and Protect in 10w40 (left).

Comments:

- The previous UOA was Mobil 0w40;

- The purpose of this UOA was to check for coolant intrusion as the vehicle had a thermostat issue about 6 months earlier;

- This is the first change with R&P - the oil was notably darker than usual

- In the intervening period between UOAs, I have also been adding a small dose of 2 cycle oil to the fuel. Cylinder wear has decreased, but note the UOA was taken at 3000km not 5000km.

- Theres no doubt that 0w40 mobil is incredible oil and I will be reverting back once the "cleaning" is complete

It's great that you have that 10w-40 R&P available. Looks like either oil did great & no reason to switch away from the Valvoline in my opinion. Si came down along with Glycol. Thanks for sharing.

I don't see 10W40 as an option on Valvoline's page:

Nice report

That's good news. That means we might also start seeing it in other grades or even "Euro" versions.
Looking forward to the possibility of a Euro version....
I have really gravitated towards Euro oils over the last 3-4 years.

Its been in Australia for a while actually. We won't get it here just like we dont get Maxlife Full Synthetic 5w40 which has been around in Europe and Australia for many years...
